Before I was writing and publishing books, I spent over twelve years in software quality assurance, guaranteeing a level of quality for the end client. In books, the end client is the reader. Or, the narrator, if you’re paying to produce an audiobook.

- Beta reading: I read with an eye for character arc, plot holes, clarity, consistency, plus note any issues normally caught in the proofreading phase. Current rate: $0.0055 per word.
- Proof reading: I will note errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, and capitalization. Current rate: $0.0045 per word. Rates go up to $0.0065 per word if I’m the first and last pair of editorial eyes on your work.
